"To Dust You Shall Return"

  • Music: Cuban music

Pope John Paul has died, aged 84.

It reminded me of my aunt who i lost at the beginning of the year. It's never easy when someone dies. She had been ill for a long time, hospitlaized for nearly 2 months. Yet we still hoped she'd make it. The worst thing about it noone really knows what she died of. She was passed from one medical team to another, until finally she gave up and died. Her husband refused  post mortem. A lot of people were disappointed. Not just the doctors. I think they just needed an explanation so they could have that thing called 'closure'. But it's probably the last thing you'd want when you are grieving, especially when you know what it entails.

For some weird reason, 3 people asked me today why I wasn't writing anymore..my sister..brother and a friend..All independently, which is really weird. I used to write stories and read them in front of my family and family friends every Sunday evening...Well, most Sunday evenings. I really miss those days. We'd all be in the lounge and our parents would tell us to do something for the whole family. I was never really good at acting, and I am hopeless at singing. So I used to write short stories. It was childish stuff really, but such good fun! Sometimes I wish I could go back to the good old days. So I started writing another short story. I have only done a few lines. Can't be more than a thousand words.

This evening I cooked chicken and I think have been put off meat! At least for a while.I have never liked the smell of chicken while it's cooking. It sometimes makes me want to throw up! Today I made the mistake of not marinating it and it smelled and tasted awful!Especially after I had some KFC last night!  It's a pity I don't know that many vegetarian dishes. I phoned one of my vegetarian friends ad asked him to email me a few recipes. I think I'll stick to fish if I want a bit of meat. OR, perhaps I could browse some blogs on here and look for some vegetarian recipes?
